As mentioned previously, the Lord took me into a wilderness experience. During my time in the wilderness, I was at one point totally despondent thinking that God had forsaken me. I believe He allowed this so I would understand what it feels like to know the Lord and to walk with Him and then to be without Him. It was a horrible feeling and one I hope I never have to experience again. I literally felt the torment of Hell and thought I was losing my mind and was lost forever. Of course, God never left me. He was just silent for a time while the Holy Spirit revealed my heart to me and did the work needed.
I remember the day as if it was yesterday. I believe that was the day "I" died. That day was my turning point. I finally understood what was happening. I had to realize my need for Him in ALL areas of my life, and I needed to surrender to the process of death to self. I had to decrease so He could increase. I had known this teaching most of my life, but now it was a reality. Shortly after that point of understanding, I began to feel resurrection life. Over the next weeks and months, little by little, as I pressed in, clarity came, revelation came, healing came, and I was back on my journey to my destiny with greater wisdom and understanding.
As I sought the Lord about this, He explained there are many facets to His Love for His people.
Sometimes we are stubborn, spiritually blind or deaf, and He needs to take radical steps to alter our course. Sometimes our calling requires us to learn things of the Spirit we would not learn in everyday life. Sometimes our calling requires us to go before those we lead into what God is preparing to do so that we will be able to help them through it. Whatever the reasons for your fire of Love, you will get through it quicker and easier if you are aware of its purpose.
Rejoice when facing trials because He only disciplines those He loves. Like a father, His ultimate goal is to be sure you have everything you need for your journey.
"Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent." - Revelation 3:19 NIV
"May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world's corruption caused by human desires. In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God's promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins. So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Therefore, I will always remind you about these things--even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught." - 2 Peter 1:2-12 NLT
