My spirit has been extremely grieved for several days, and when I was watching the memorial for George Floyd, thoughts began to come to my heart and mind about what is happening in the world today.
We have recently been bombarded with suffering, death, and lawlessness. But we need to broaden our perspective to see as God sees. What’s happening in the world is bigger than a pandemic or injustice. A brother in the Lord often says, “The Pain points to the problem”. After much prayer, the Lord revealed that the problem is the oppression of God’s people and it has been going on for centuries in lesser and greater degrees.
Many people groups have been oppressed over the ages. Africans, Irish, Jews, Native Americans, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russians, Hispanic, Women, the Unborn, the young, and the old, to name just a few.
Here is the truth: ALL people were created by and for God (Col. 1:16). ALL ARE HIS PEOPLE whether they have come to know Jesus Christ or not.
The Pharaohs of this world, controlled by powers and principalities, have oppressed, and continue to oppress ALL of God’s people.
We, the Body of Christ, carry the answers. But who will listen to us when we won’t listen to and oppress one another? We can’t speak to or solve the problem if we are hypocrites. We need to first take the plank out of our own eye.
It was Jesus' last prayer that we would be one as he and the Father are one SO THE WORLD WOULD BELIEVE (John 17:20-21).
It took a pandemic for the political divide to come together for the safety of all citizens, globally.
It took a senseless murder for the racial divide to come together for justice, globally.
What will it take for the Body of Christ to come together for the good of ALL mankind, globally?
I pray to God that we don’t become rudely awakened through circumstances, but that we would seek the Lord to awaken us.
It’s time to put aside our differences, repent of our sins and the sins of the generations, and come together so that we can stand in one accord to declare truth and freedom to ALL of God’s people.
One accord is not everyone looking the same, acting the same, and speaking the same. One accord is a DIVERSE group of people who work together for an agreed purpose. The purpose of the Body of Christ is for the Kingdom of God to be established on earth as it is in heaven. There are no denominations in heaven.
Look beyond your denominational circles and your own causes to see the greater purpose. Lay your dogmas and agendas on the altar and come together to carry out God’s purpose and plan. Ask God for ways to bring the Church together and for ways to restore Biblical morality to our nations.
There is a remnant who are trying to gather the Body together. Find them and come alongside to help them.
As for our nation, we need to remember that the United States was founded by those who were oppressed and who in turn oppressed the native people.
Today, the world watches the United States and we need to be an example. We are One Nation Under God. If we want to see change, we need to PUT GOD FIRST IN OUR NATION. Unity, liberty, and justice for all come when we are “under God”.
God has the answers to all that is happening. We only need to ask for His will in this time and season. It is our collective responsibility as the Body of Christ to work TOGETHER and with Him for His purposes.
Wake up Church. Check your hearts and come together in one accord. You were created for such a time as this and God is on our side!
